Choral Symphony on American Poems

This 25-minute work was composed for the Oshkosh, Wisconsin High School Choir and Band during Jarrett's tenure there as composer-in-residence.  It was premiered in Detroit in 1965 at the MENC conference with James Croft conducting, and has received a number of  performances since then, including the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Mich. and the Kennedy Center. The poems are patriotic in nature, and the music has an American flavor.  The work exists in both orchestra and band versions.  Originally published by Carl Fischer, Inc., the Choral Symphony is now the property of JMJ Music Publishers.   The complete piano-vocal score can be seen by clicking on the buttons below.
