March 14-15, 2009 -- Song cycle“…autumn too long,” winner of the 2008 ASCAP Rudolf Nissim Award, was premiered by the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Delta David Gier, conductor, with Kathryn Wright, soprano.
Recent Premieres:
“Tribute to Gershwin,” a 25-minute set of arrangements of Gershwin songs, was given an excellent performance on Sunday, May 10 at the Meymandi Concert Hall, Raleigh, NC, by the North Carolina Master Chorale and the Tar River Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Alfred Sturgis. The audience gave a standing ovation at the conclusion of the work.
"Tribute to Gershwin" was also performed in March by the Panama City Pops, under the direction of Eddie Rackley.
In October the same group performed Jarrett's "Five Concert Waltzes," with Louis Stewart, pianist.
